On October 29, 2024, Mr. Taweesak Sripoonga, Director of the College of Industrial Technology and Management, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, along with Miss Chulee Meeraksa, Deputy Director for Student Development Affairs, faculty representatives, and students, participated in the 2nd Blue Crab Population Enhancement Project 2024 organized by Khanom Electricity Generating Company Limited in collaboration with the Genetic Aqua-Animal Research and Development Center in Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Mr. Sunthorn Poshsalee, Senior Deputy District Chief of Khanom, presided over the opening ceremony, with over 200 attendees, including local government officials and community members, at the Khanom Estuary (the seaside guesthouse area of Khanom Electricity Generating Company Limited).
This project aims to release 7 million blue crab larvae into their natural habitat, highlighting the importance of marine resource conservation. The initiative encourages all stakeholders to recognize the significance of preserving marine resources, leading to sustainable livelihoods for the community, and protecting natural resources and the environment in Khanom District.
