

On October 23, 2024, Mr. Taweesak Sriphoonga, Director of the College of Industrial Technology and Management, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Nakhon Si Thammarat Campus, along with representatives from the staff, participated in a wreath-laying ceremony adorned with pink flowers, the royal color, in remembrance of the late King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) on the anniversary of his passing.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Thitiwatchara Boonkij, the District Chief of Khanom, and joined by heads of government departments, state enterprises, local government executives, educational administrators, the head of the Khanom Red Cross branch, private sector representatives, village chiefs, and Khanom Mass Power Group. The event took place at the statue of King Chulalongkorn in front of the Khanom District Office, Nakhon Si Thammarat.
The ceremony aimed to commemorate the royal grace and the significant contributions King Chulalongkorn made for the welfare of the Thai people. During his reign, many transformative changes occurred in the country, bringing progress that equaled that of various civilized nations. One of his most important reforms was the gradual abolition of slavery without bloodshed or violent resistance, accomplished through legal measures and his remarkable wisdom, resulting in the end of slavery in Thailand over more than 30 years.
